Reality or invention?

In the stories of Blaise Cendrars, we constantly navigate between real or autobiographical facts and inventions, never knowing when the text slips from reality to the imaginary.

What magic then for the theatre, a place where one always oscillates between its two worlds, the real and the factitious! Tell stories and try to make the spectator forget that he is facing a theater stage, and to take him on board, without a hitch, to walk him around, to take him with us into our story, to make it his own too, and that we go together.

Blaise Cendrars excels in this exercise, making us lose our footing between the true and the false, and quickly we don't care what is what, we take a liking to it and we want more!

The Flaming Tongue of Cendrars

The pleasure of saying, sharing this language cut like a diamond, this traveling prose, these words which surprise like detonators at the turn of a page, and explode and hurt, giving the feeling that they are more alive than we are are, and awaken nebulous zones and other dreams buried there, in the depths of our bellies.

His language is teeming with finds, with fringe images; I really want to be able to make it heard, to have it discovered or rediscovered.

Blaise Cendrars is fire!
The sensation of a man who never stops, who devours, enjoys, crosses, scratches himself, knows loneliness, marvels, burns ("because to write is to burn alive, but it is also to be reborn from his ashes."), rolls at breakneck speed, takes trains, boats to multiple destinations, lives!

A gift for these young actors who are at the dawn of their career, of their life; who also have, I hope, fire in their bellies and who want to go for it.

May the stories of Blaise Cendrars be an inexhaustible fuel for their locomotive, so that they are always on the way...
