Who does not know the songs of Jean Villard Gilles ? Les éternelles « Trois cloches », « Le Bonheur »,_cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_“Dollar ” ? Who doesn't have at least two verses of " La Venoge " in mind ?

 

What we know less, however, is the man behind it all. How did Jean Villard become Gilles ? What brought him first to the theater, as an actor in Switzerland, then to Paris, and finally, as a song duo ? How did this Vaudois create French song as we know it today, by putting his humanity, generosity, humor and tenderness at its service ?

 

This show will be guided by Jean Villard Gilles himself, his own writings, his thoughts, his daydreams, his revolts. Accompanied by some testimonials from his acolytes, we will let him  tell us about his life, punctuated here and there with music, evoked to keep only the essence.

 

Three actors, to tell us about this adventure, camping in turn Gilles, Julien, Edith, Urfer or even his close friends. A piano. And around, nature, so dear to our author, who has always found in it a source of inspiration. Thus gathered on the stage of Transvaldésia, all these elements will let you hear Jean Villard Gilles, The Story of a Life...
